Lost Not Found
Genre: Alternative rock, Piano pop, Electronic
Lost Not Found is made up of Brent Crowe and Phil Haymaker. It’s not exactly a typical musical mashup duo. Phil is a craft beer connoisseur and independent modern folk singer-songwriter. Brent is a former banker turned entrepreneur, and owner of BackBeat Sound Design recording studio in Chattanooga, TN. Both have had their own less-than-glamorous journey through independent music, repeatedly struggling to break through an oversaturated singer-songwriter market to share their music with the world. If it didn’t work solo, why not try it together? And Lost Not Found was born.
The Whatever We Want EP was initiated as a creative escape for a guy who spends most of his time producing other people’s music, and a guy who wanted to reach outside his folk/country songwriting comfort zone. It was quickly established that there were simply no rules to the music. Anything and everything goes – genre, style, instrument choice, lyrical content, etc. Whatever We Want became the side project opportunity to air out years of partially developed musical ideas and stories – just do whatever.
The music is a jumble of real and fake, acoustic and synthetic. It’s bursting with powerful drum beats, epic bass grooves, and catchy guitar licks. But it’s also layered with tricked out programmed beats, aggressive synths, and booming sub bass. Sometimes it feels like a 70s disco groove, sometimes it feels like modern day EDM power dance. Sometimes there’s a synth solo, sometimes there’s 40+ voices and 20+ instruments making noise at the same time.
Whatever We Want is a high energy pop/electronic/dance hybrid. It’s everything Lost Not Found wanted it to be, scrambled together into 5 song on an EP. The result? You might sing, dance, laugh, cry, head-bang, or something else entirely! Whatever it is that you hear, it’s fun, it’s catchy, and you’ll play it on repeat until you can’t get it out of your head.
